Dakota Terraces Campground is a Bureau of Reclamation campground within Ridgway State Park in Colorado, about 0.1 mile from the Mule Deer Meadow Trail and 0.3 mile from the Wapiti Trail. Elk Ridge Campground sits 0.4 mile away, and the Ridgway State Park climbing area is about half a mile off. For comfortable weather, late spring and early fall are the sweet spots. Typical averages from the nearby Ridgway weather station show May highs around 70°F and September highs around 76°F, with July and August warming to the mid-80s. The surrounding area offers plenty to pair with a stay. The Wapiti Trail and Mule Deer Meadow Trail are both within a third of a mile, and the Ridgway State Park climbing area is about half a mile away. Dallas Creek, roughly 4.6 miles off, is the closest paddling option.
