Beaver Lake Campground is a Forest Service campground in the Ouray Ranger District of the Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre and Gunnison National Forests, about 11 miles from the town of Ouray, Colorado. It sits south of Beaver Lake, with 11 campsites set under spruce trees. Some sites offer views of the lake, open meadow and towering cliffs, while the tent sites, on a dead-end spur, are more secluded. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show July highs around 77°F with lows near 44°F, while winter highs stay around freezing. The campground has vault toilets, and there are no close communities for supplies, so visitors should bring everything they need. Heavy four-wheeler traffic runs along the main access road. Beaver Lake Camground and the Beaver Lake hike are both about 0.1 mile away. Big Cimarron Campground and the Tadpole hike are about 0.6 mile off.
