Bear River Designated Dispersed is a Forest Service campground in the Yampa Ranger District of the Medicine Bow-Routt National Forest in northwest Colorado. The 30 sites are scattered along Forest Service Road 900, each marked by a numbered post and offering views of the water and the Flat Tops. Each site has a picnic table and a permanent fire grate, and vault toilets are available. The sites are simple and low-key. They sit along a road with no shade or tree cover, and the wind can be strong. Pack out everything you bring in. Nearby, the Ute-Heart Lake Trail starts about 0.7 miles away, and the Bear River offers canoeing about 2.5 miles off. Bear Lake Campground is about 2.8 miles away, and the Mandall Lakes hike is about 4.1 miles away.
