Parking Lot Rock is a climbing area in Castle Rock State Park in California, managed by State Park and Recreation. It sits within the park's state park land unit, and the surrounding area is a cluster of climbing spots and trails, so it works well as a base for a day of bouldering or hiking. Late spring and early fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show May highs around 67°F and October highs around 71°F, with only a handful of wet days in each month. That station sits about 800 feet lower than the park, so temperatures at the climbing area run cooler. The closest neighbors are the Gods and Spoon climbing areas, the Castle Rock Trail and the 360 Degree Boulder, all about 0.1 mile away. The Ridge Trail and Skyline Trail are each about 0.7 mile off.
