Indian Rock is a climbing area in Sanborn County Park on county land in California, about a tenth of a mile from the Sanborn County Park (Indian Rock Side) climbing area. It sits among several other climbing spots, including Lower Indian Rock and Hash Rock, all within about a tenth of a mile. The area is a cluster of sport and mixed routes, with 15 routes in total. The grades run from 5.7 up to 5.12, and the median is 5.11b. Among the named routes are Cave route at 5.7, Hocus at 5.11b and Jail Bird at 5.12a. Summer is the driest and warmest stretch. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show July and August highs around 81°F with only about one wet day a month, while winter brings highs in the mid-50s and rain on roughly 14 days a month. That station sits about 640 feet lower than the park, so temperatures at Indian Rock run cooler. The Castle Rock Trail starts about 0.3 miles away, and the Skyline Trail and Summit Rock Loop Trail are each about 0.6 miles off. Paddlers can find the San Lorenzo River about 9.4 miles away.
