Hallway Boulder is a bouldering area in California's Los Padres National Forest, within the Santa Barbara Ranger District. It is managed by the Forest Service, and its name gives it away as a cluster of boulders rather than a single route or a climb with a defined trail. The climbing here is all bouldering, with 11 routes spread across the boulder field. The grades run from V0- up to V10+, with a median of V4, so the field covers a wide range from beginner to advanced climbers. Among the named routes are Street Corner (V0-), Static Head (V6) and Wedgie Roof (V6), and Project? is a V10+ route that has not yet been climbed. The two closest neighbors, Trojan Boulder and Painted Cave, both sit about 0.1 mile away. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show May highs around 80°F with lows near 46°F, and November highs around 73°F, while July and August average highs in the low 90s. That station sits a few hundred feet lower than the boulders, so temperatures on the rocks run a bit cooler. For a longer outing, the Arroyo Burro Trail lies about 2.1 miles away and the San Antonio Creek Trail Connector about 2.5 miles. Los Prietos campground is about 3.1 miles off, and Sage Hill offers saltwater fishing about 2.8 miles away.
