Castle Rock Loop is a climbing area within Castle Rock State Park in California, managed by State Park and Recreation. The park is the land unit that holds the loop, and it sits about a tenth of a mile from Castle Rock Proper, the 360 Degree Boulder and the Castle Rock Trail. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Skyline Ridge Preserve show July and August highs around 81°F with lows in the upper 50s and only a day or two of rain each month. That station sits well below the park, so temperatures here run cooler. Several other climbing spots and hikes start right around the loop. The Ridge Trail and the Skyline Trail are both within a mile, and the San Lorenzo River, about 9 miles away, offers canoeing.
