Bishop Peak Bouldering is a bouldering area in Bunnell Open Space, a city-managed open space in California. It sits among several other climbing areas and trails, including the Bishop Peak Trail and the Chlorissa and Hummingbird Boulders climbing areas, all within about a tenth of a mile. The bouldering here is all on the bouldering scale, with seven routes ranging from V0 to V8. The easiest is Monkeyman at V0, and the hardest is Sisyphus at V8. The median grade is V4, so the area offers a range from beginner to advanced boulders. The most comfortable months for a visit are late spring and early fall. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show May highs around 72°F and September highs around 80°F, with almost no wet days in July and August. That station sits a few hundred feet lower than the bouldering area, so temperatures up high run a little cooler. For a longer outing, the Bishop Peak Trail and Felsman Loop Trail are both about a tenth of a mile away. Cerro Alto campground is about 9 miles off, and Morro Bay State Park Campground is about 10 miles away.
