Whoop-dee-doo is a short, easy mountain biking route in the Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit, managed by the Forest Service, about a mile from the town of Tahoe City, California. The ride is out and back, roughly 2.3 miles long, with a one-way climb of about 235 feet from a low point of about 6,864 feet to a high of about 7,110 feet. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Tahoe City show July highs around 78°F with lows near 46°F and only about one wet day in the month. That station sits roughly 900 feet below the route, so temperatures on the climb run a little cooler. Winter brings highs near 40°F and frequent snow days from December through February.
