Fast Eddie's is a short, moderate mountain biking climb in California's Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit, managed by the Forest Service. The route is an out-and-back of about 1.7 miles, with a one-way elevation gain of 284 feet, taking you from a low point of 6,968 feet to a high of 7,257 feet. Summer is the most comfortable time to ride. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Tahoe City show July highs around 78°F with lows near 46°F and only about one wet day in the month. That station sits roughly 1,000 feet below the climb, so temperatures up high run cooler. The Tahoe Rim Trail (Painted Rock South) starts just 0.1 mile away, and the Tahoe Rim Trail (Alternate) is about 0.2 mile off. For an overnight stay, Silver Creek-Truckee campground is about 1.7 miles away. Climbers can head to Light Deprivation Buttress, about 2.5 miles away.
