Valley View is a short, easy mountain biking ride in California's Tahoe National Forest, within the Truckee Ranger District. The out-and-back route is about 2.2 miles long, with a low point of 6,727 feet and a high of 6,987 feet, a climb of about 300 feet one way. Summer is the most comfortable time to ride. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Tahoe City show July highs around 78°F with lows near 46°F and only about one wet day in the month. That station sits roughly 750 feet below the route, so temperatures on the climb run cooler. The Western States Trail passes just 0.1 mile away, and the Western States route is about 0.4 mile off. For an overnight stay, Silver Creek Campground is about 0.9 mile away. Climbers can find the Light Deprivation Buttress about 1.6 miles from the route.
