Humbug109 is a 6-mile out-and-back hike on natural trail surface in the Oak Knoll Ranger District of Klamath National Forest in California. The Forest Service manages the land, and the route rises from 3,342 feet to 4,060 feet, a 710-foot climb one way. It is rated hard. The most comfortable months for a visit are May and September. A nearby weather station in Yreka records typical averages of 74°F highs and 43°F lows in May, and 84°F highs and 47°F lows in September, with far fewer wet days than the colder months. That station sits well below the trail's high point, so temperatures up top run cooler. Several other Humbug hikes lie within a few miles, including Humbug103 and Humbug104 at about 1.3 miles away and Humbug102 at 1.4 miles. Tree of Heaven Campground is about 6.3 miles off.
