Humbug100 is a 3.8-mile out-and-back hike in the Oak Knoll Ranger District of California's Klamath National Forest. The trail rises from a low point of 3,206 feet to a high of 3,742 feet, with a total elevation gain of 532 feet. The Forest Service manages the surrounding land, and the route's natural surface makes it a straightforward outing for anyone looking to get a little elevation on a single day. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Yreka show May highs around 74°F and October highs near 70°F, while July and August average in the low 90s. That station sits about 1,000 feet below the trail, so temperatures on the ridge run cooler. Several other hikes sit close by, including Humbug101 about half a mile away and Humbug99 and Humbug102 within about 0.6 miles. For an overnight stay, Tree of Heaven Campground is about 5 miles off.
