Jackson Point Campground is a boat-in only campground on the east side of Jackson Meadow Reservoir in the Sierraville Ranger District of Tahoe National Forest, about half a mile southwest of the Pass Creek Boat ramp. The Forest Service manages the land, and the only water source is the reservoir itself, which must be purified before drinking. The campground sits at a high elevation, and snow pack determines when it opens. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from the nearby Bowman Dam weather station, which sits a few hundred feet lower, run to highs around 82°F in July and 77°F in September, with lows in the low 50s. The Pacific Crest Trail passes along the east side of the reservoir, and Jackson Meadow Reservoir is a fishing destination. Pass Creek Annex and East Meadow campgrounds are each about 0.6 miles away, and the Pass Creek Loop hike is about 0.8 miles off.
