Haw Creek Bluff Trail is a short, easy out-and-back hike in the Buffalo Ranger District of Arkansas's Ozark-St. Francis National Forest, managed by the Forest Service. The trail is about 0.7 miles long, and it climbs from roughly 780 feet to about 1,053 feet before returning. That makes the total elevation gain about 625 feet round trip, with the steepest stretch coming around 0.27 miles in at a grade of about 26 percent. The trail sits close to several other destinations, so it pairs easily with climbing, camping or a longer walk in the area. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station run to highs around 70°F in April and 72°F in October, while July and August highs typically reach 90°F. The station sits a little lower than the trail's high point, so temperatures up top run a bit cooler. Haw Creek Falls Campground is about 0.4 miles away, and the Haw Creek West (Valinor) climbing area is about 0.3 miles off. Haw Creek East, another climbing area, lies about a mile away. Paddlers can find Little Piney Creek about 6.3 miles out.
