Uptown is a climbing area in Arizona's Coconino National Forest, within the Forest Service's Flagstaff Ranger District. It sits among a cluster of climbing areas and trails, with the West Elden and Downtown climbing areas each about 0.1 mile away. The area has 22 routes, mostly traditional (19) with one mixed, one sport and one top rope. Grades run from 5.4 to 5.12, with 5.9 as the median. Some of the named routes include PMC at 5.4, Right Deception Crack at 5.7+, and John's Jugs at 5.12. For comfortable weather, aim for late spring or early fall. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show May highs around 71°F and October highs around 66°F, with July and August bringing the most wet days.
