Oaklands is a climbing area in the Flagstaff Ranger District of Coconino National Forest in Arizona, managed by the Forest Service. It sits among several other climbing areas, including Main Wall and The Sailing Wall, both about 0.4 miles away. The Oldham hike is also close by, at about 0.3 miles. The area has 34 routes, with sport and trad styles making up most of them. The typical grade range runs from about 5.7+ to 5.13, with a median of 5.11c. Among the named routes are Choir Boy, a trad climb at 5.7+, and Keepin' It Real, a sport route at 5.11d. The highest-grade route is The Biz NAZ at 5.13. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from the Ft Valley weather station, about 7 miles away and at a similar elevation, show May highs around 71°F and October highs around 66°F. Summer brings more rain, with about 11 to 13 wet days in July and August.
