The Superstition Mountains are a climbing area in Arizona's Superstition Wilderness, within the Mesa Ranger District of Tonto National Forest. The Forest Service manages the land, and the area is surrounded by a mix of wilderness and national forest terrain. Spring and fall are the most comfortable seasons. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Apache Junction show November highs around 76°F with lows near 50°F, and March highs around 77°F, while summer highs climb into the mid-100s. The area holds 27 routes, most of them trad, with grades ranging from 5.4 to 5.11b. A few sport and bouldering routes round out the options. Among the named climbs are Late Start at 5.4 and South Face at 5.11b. Weavers Needle is a climbing area just 0.7 miles away, and Wild Horse Wall is about 1.8 miles off. For hiking, Terrapin Trail #234 is about 1.3 miles away. Tortilla Campground, about 6.6 miles away, offers a place to stay overnight.
