Middle Section is a climbing area in the West Clear Creek Wilderness, part of the Mogollon Rim Ranger District of Coconino National Forest in Arizona. The Forest Service manages the surrounding land. The area sits among several other named climbing spots, including the John Doe Wall, Log Jam area and West Clear Creek, each about 0.1 mile away. That cluster makes it easy to move from one crag to another in a single visit. The climbing here is trad, with a single sport route, and the grade range runs from about 5.10a to 5.12-. Knot Unknown and It's Super Body, YO! are two of the named routes. The hardest, Into the Maelstrom, is a 5.12- trad climb. For timing, late spring and early fall are the most comfortable. Typical averages from a nearby weather station run from highs around 70°F with lows near 38°F in May to highs around 76°F and lows near 46°F in September. The station sits about 13.5 miles away and is at a similar elevation, so temperatures at the crag may run slightly cooler.
