Whipper Wall is a climbing area in the Payson Ranger District of Tonto National Forest in Arizona, managed by the Forest Service. It sits among a cluster of climbing areas, with The Middle East and The Playground each about 0.3 miles away and The Joint about 0.5 miles off. The area offers a small but varied selection of routes. There are five in total, with three traditional climbs and two sport routes. The grades run from 5.8 up to 5.11+, with the median around 5.10b/c. Some of the named routes are Cool Whip at 5.8, Pinche Corazon at 5.10b/c and The Inverter at 5.11-. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Payson show October highs around 76°F and April highs around 72°F, while July and August average highs in the low 90s.
