The Asylum is a climbing area in Arizona's Coconino National Forest, within the Mogollon Rim Ranger District. It is managed by the Forest Service, and its closest neighbor is the Main Wall climbing area, just 0.1 mile away. The Asylum has one sport route, White Russian, which is graded 5.12b and was first climbed by Matt Enbring. The most comfortable climbing weather comes in late spring and early fall. Typical averages from a nearby weather station run from highs around 70°F with lows near 38°F in May to highs around 76°F with lows near 46°F in September, with winter highs in the mid-40s and lows in the low teens. That station sits about 570 feet lower than the Asylum, so temperatures at the cliff run a bit cooler. Other climbing areas close by include High Life Wall and Swiss Wall, each within a mile. For a hike, Red Hill is about 6.6 miles away.
