DWS East Side is a climbing area on State Trust Land in Arizona, managed by the State Department of Land. It sits about 0.3 miles from DWS West Side, and the East Side and West Side climbing areas are each about a mile away. The area is a mix of bouldering and traditional routes, with 30 routes in total, and it works well as a base for exploring the cluster of climbing spots around it. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from the nearby Winslow airport weather station show April highs around 72°F and October highs around 74°F, while July and August average in the low 90s. The bouldering here runs from V0-1 up to V6, with the hardest route listed as Dirty Dancing at V6. The YDS scale covers grades from 5.0 to 5.12. Among the boulders, Small warm up boulder is a V0-1, and Avanyu is a V4-5.
