Chimney Rock Area is a climbing area in the Red Rock Ranger District of Coconino National Forest in Arizona, managed by the Forest Service. It sits within the Sedona area, where other climbing spots and hiking routes lie close by. The area offers a range of routes for both trad and sport climbers. There are 11 routes in total, with grades ranging from 5.7+ to 5.10, and the style mix includes seven traditional routes and four sport routes. Among the routes are the Original Chimney Route (5.7+), Grand Wazoo (5.9) and Mac Daddy (5.10), all traditional climbs. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Sedona show April highs around 75°F and October highs near 79°F, while July highs reach about 97°F and January lows drop to around 34°F. The area is close to several other destinations. The Chimney Rock Pass #165B and Andante #165E trails start about 0.1 mile away, and the Lizard Tail Spire and Fun Ship climbing areas are each about 0.2 mile off. For an overnight stay, Chavez Crossing campground is about 3 miles away.
