Solider Pass Spur A is a short, easy hike in Arizona's Red Rock-Secret Mountain Wilderness, within the Red Rock Ranger District of Coconino National Forest. The Forest Service manages the land, and the route is about 0.19 miles long, with a total elevation gain of 19 feet, so it's a quick walk rather than a climb. The trail is a spur that links to other routes in the area. Solider Pass #66 lies about 0.1 mile away, and the Soldier Pass Spur A mountain biking route starts at the same trailhead. Horses are allowed, but bikes are not. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from the nearby Oak Creek Canyon weather station show May highs around 78°F and October highs around 74°F, while July and August average about 90°F. Nearby, the Brins Mesa mountain biking route is about 0.7 mile away, and the climbing areas The Fin and Tomahawk Tower are within about a mile.
