Sabino Canyon is an easy out-and-back hike in Arizona's Coronado National Forest, within the Santa Catalina Ranger District. The trail is about 5 miles long, with a one-way elevation gain of 496 feet, and it rises from a low point of about 3,331 feet to a high of about 3,802 feet. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail is not accessible. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show March highs around 74°F and October highs around 86°F, while June and July average about 100°F. The trailhead sits at the Sabino Creek mountain biking area, about 0.1 mile away, and the Sabino Historic hike is about 0.3 mile off. West Fork Sabino Trail #24 lies about 1.6 miles away. For an overnight stay, Sabino Canyon Recreation Area Cactus Ramada 1 and 2 are both about 2.7 miles from the trail.
