Pinhead Wall is a climbing area in the Pusch Ridge Wilderness, part of the Santa Catalina Ranger District of Coronado National Forest in Arizona. The Forest Service manages the land, and the wall sits among a cluster of other climbing areas, including the Alcove, Hairpin Turn Area and Right Hand Wall & Hairpin, all within about a tenth of a mile. The area is a mix of sport and trad routes, with 16 sport routes and 5 trad routes among its 21 named climbs. Grades run from 5.7 up to 5.12, with the median around 5.11. Sport climbers will find Grecian Corner at 5.10- and Face Of A Dictator at 5.11a/b, while trad climbers can try Pinhead Crack at 5.7 or Energy Crisis at 5.12. Winter and early spring are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Saguaro National Park show March highs around 74°F with lows near 48°F, while June and July average highs in the low to mid 100s. That station sits about 324 feet lower than the wall, so temperatures up high run a little cooler. Several other destinations are close by. Gordon Hirabayashi Campground is about 2.2 miles away for camping, and Molino Basin Group is about 3 miles off. Babad Do'ag, a hike about 1.5 miles away, and the Sycamore Reservoir Trail #39, about 1.7 miles away, offer more time on foot or on a mountain bike.
