Pine View is an easy hike of about 1.3 miles on the Payson Ranger District of Tonto National Forest in Arizona, managed by the Forest Service. The trail is short and gentle, with a total elevation gain of about 3 feet, and it makes an out-and-back route from a low point of about 5,513 feet to a high of about 5,671 feet. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show October highs around 74°F with lows near 46°F, and April highs around 70°F. That station sits roughly 1,000 feet below the trail, so temperatures on the hike run cooler. Bikes are allowed on the natural-surface trail. Pine View Trail #28 starts about 0.1 mile away, and Highline Trail #31 and Pine Canyon Trail #26 are within half a mile. Sharp Creek Group campground is about 0.7 mile off.
