Redrock is an easy out-and-back hike in Arizona's Tonto National Forest, within the Payson Ranger District. The trail is about 1.8 miles long, with a one-way elevation gain of 616 feet, taking you from a low point of about 5,393 feet to a high of about 6,006 feet. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail's natural surface makes it a straightforward walk or ride. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show October highs around 74°F with lows near 46°F, while July highs reach about 91°F. That station sits roughly 1,400 feet lower than the trail's high point, so temperatures on the route run cooler. The trail is open year-round. Bikes are allowed, so it works for hikers and riders alike. Nearby, Highline Trail #31 and the Donahue mountain biking routes are within about 2 miles. The Geronimo hike and Sharp Creek Group campground are a little farther out, at about 2.5 and 3.2 miles.
