Flume is an easy hike in the Red Rock Ranger District of Coconino National Forest in northern Arizona. The trail is an out-and-back that starts at the Irving/Flume parking area and gains about 56 feet of elevation over the course of its 10.5-mile round trip, with the high point at 4,397 feet and the low at 3,764 feet. The Forest Service manages the land. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at a similar elevation show highs around 70°F in April and 74°F in October, while July highs reach about 91°F and January lows drop to about 30°F. The Bob Bear hike lies about 1.4 miles away, and the Waterfall Trail is about 2.6 miles off. Paddlers can reach Fossil Creek at about 3.9 miles, and the Buckskin hike is about 4.8 miles away.
