Pat Mesa is a hard hike in the Clifton Ranger District of the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests in eastern Arizona, managed by the Forest Service. The route is an out-and-back of about 23 miles, with a one-way climb of roughly 970 feet from a low point of about 4,000 feet to a high of about 4,800 feet. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Clifton show April highs around 81°F and October highs around 83°F, while July and August average about 100°F with more wet days. The trail is natural-surface and allows horses and bikes. It is not an accessible trail. Blowout Trail starts about half a mile away, and Falls and Santa Cruz Trail are both within about 2 miles. For an overnight base, Lower Juan Miller Campground is about 7 miles off.
