Plateau is a 3.4-mile out-and-back hike in the Clifton Ranger District of the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests in eastern Arizona. The trail climbs from about 5,970 feet to about 6,298 feet, a rise of 78 feet one way, and is rated moderate. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail is natural-surfaced. Bikes and horses are both allowed, and the trail is not accessible. It is open year round. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show May highs around 77°F and October highs around 72°F, while July and August run hotter, with highs near 89°F and rain on roughly 11 to 12 days a month. The Fry Trailhead network lies a short distance away, with the Connect trail about 1.4 miles off and Yellowjacket Trail about 1.7 miles off. Granville Campground is about 3.7 miles away, and Lower Juan Miller Campground is about 4.3 miles away.
