Burns is an easy out-and-back hike of about 2.2 miles in the Clifton Ranger District of the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests in eastern Arizona. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail is rated easy with a total elevation gain of about 69 feet. The route is natural-surfaced and open to both horses and bikes. It is not an accessible trail. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show May highs around 77°F and October highs around 72°F, while July and August bring highs near 89°F and the most wet days of the year. Several other hikes lie about 3.5 miles away, including Pinyon, Alder and Thomas Creek Trail. For an overnight stay, Lower Juan Miller Campground is about 8.3 miles off.
