Ken's Pass is a short, easy out-and-back hike in Lake Guntersville State Park in Alabama, managed by State Park and Recreation. The trail is about 1.5 miles long, with a total elevation gain of 406 feet, and it starts at roughly 1,000 feet, reaching a high point of about 1,050 feet before returning to the starting level. The climb is steady, and the steepest stretch comes at about 0.65 miles in, with a grade of about 9 percent. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show October highs around 73°F with lows near 53°F, and April is similar at about 72°F by day and 50°F at night. That station sits about 455 feet lower than the pass, so temperatures on the trail run a little cooler. The hike takes about half an hour, and it sits close to several other trails. Butler's Pass is about 0.2 miles away, the Lodge Trail about 0.3 miles, and the Old Still Trail about 0.4 miles. Climbers can find Guntersville Roof about 1.3 miles off.
