Owl Roofs is a bouldering area within the Territorial Prison and Grounds in Rawlins, Wyoming, on city-managed land. It sits among several climbing spots in the Rawlins Uplift area, and its name points to the boulders that make up the heart of the area. The climbing here is all bouldering, with eight routes in the boulder style. The grades range from V2-3 up to V8-9, so there is something for climbers at every level. Classic Western, a V3, is one of the most straightforward, and Polar Project and Crack Project are among the hardest, rated V7-8 and V8-9. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Rawlins run from highs around 82°F in July to about 71°F in September, while winter highs stay near freezing. Other bouldering areas in the Rawlins Uplift lie within a short drive.
