Dam Area is a climbing area in Wyoming, managed by the Bureau of Reclamation and located about 0.3 miles from the town of Seminoe Dam. It sits within the Seminoe Mountains climbing area, about half a mile away, and its climbing routes are spread across a small cluster of crags close to the dam. The area has five routes, with grades ranging from 5.5 to 5.11b. Three are trad routes, one is a mixed route and one is a sport route. The hardest is "Depends" at 5.11b, and the easiest is "Lion's Stairway" at 5.5. The other routes are "Ruby Ridge" (5.9, sport), "Five Finger Discount" (5.10a, trad) and "Hydro Rodeo" (5.10a/b, trad). Summer is the most comfortable time to climb. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show July highs around 89°F with lows near 52°F, while winter highs stay in the mid-30s. The station sits about 225 feet lower than the climbing area, so temperatures up high run a little cooler.
