The John Prine Wall is a climbing area in Wyoming's Laramie Peak Wildlife Habitat Management Area, managed by State Fish and Wildlife. It sits among a cluster of named climbing areas, with The Curl, HightowerSW and Hightower all about 0.1 mile away. The area's climbing is a mix of styles, with eight routes in total. Four are mixed, three are sport and one is trad. Grades run from 5.8 up to 5.11b/c, with the median at 5.10c. Among the routes are Taxi Dancehall (5.8, sport) and Take These Hands to Labor (5.10c, mixed), and the hardest is Take a Load for Free at 5.11b/c. Summer is the most comfortable time to climb. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show July highs around 84°F with lows near 48°F, while winter highs stay in the upper 30s. That station sits about 750 feet lower than the wall, so temperatures here run cooler.
