HightowerSW is a climbing area in Wyoming's Laramie Peak Wildlife Habitat Management Area, managed by State Fish and Wildlife. It sits among a cluster of named climbing areas, including The Curl, The John Prine Wall and Hightower, all about 0.1 mile away. The area is a sport climbing destination with seven routes, ranging from 5.6 to 5.10c on the YDS scale. Momma Bear is the easiest at 5.6, and McGee Slab is the hardest at 5.10c. The routes are all sport, so expect bolted anchors rather than traditional gear. Summer is the most comfortable time to climb. Typical averages from a nearby weather station run to highs around 84°F in July and 74°F in September, with lows in the upper 30s to low 40s.
