Aspen Trail is a 3.4-mile out-and-back mountain biking route in the Laramie Ranger District of the Medicine Bow-Routt National Forest in Wyoming, about 7.5 miles from the town of Hirsig. The Forest Service manages the land. The trail rises steadily from a low point of 8,438 feet to a high of 8,679 feet, with a total elevation gain of 750 feet for the round trip. The climb is moderate, and the steepest stretch comes at about 1.5 miles in, with a grade of 11 percent. Summer is the most comfortable time to ride. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Laramie show July highs around 81°F with lows near 52°F, while temperatures on the trail run cooler than those figures because the station sits about 1,300 feet lower. The trail sits close to other routes and services. Ridge Trail and Lower UW Trail are both about 0.1 mile away, and Tie City Campground is half a mile off. Beehive Buttress, a climbing area, is about 1.5 miles away.
