North Teton is a hard hike in the Jedediah Smith Wilderness, part of the Teton Basin Ranger District of Caribou-Targhee National Forest in Wyoming. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail is a natural-surface out-and-back that climbs from about 7,000 feet to roughly 11,100 feet over a round-trip of about 12.7 miles. The one-way gain is about 4,100 feet. The route is rated hard, and it is not a place for bikes. Horses are allowed. Teton Canyon campground sits just 0.2 miles away, and the Face Trail and South Teton hike are also within a third of a mile. Beard's Wheatfield is about 1.3 miles off.
