Beard's Wheatfield is a moderate out-and-back hike of about 9 miles in the Teton Basin Ranger District of Caribou-Targhee National Forest in Wyoming. The route gains about 2,500 feet, with the low point at roughly 7,200 feet and the high around 9,365 feet. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail is natural-surfaced and open to horses. Bikes are not allowed on this route, so plan on horseback or on foot. The climb covers the whole trip, so it's a one-way figure rather than a round-trip total. Several other destinations sit within a couple of miles. North Teton and South Teton are both hikes about 1.5 miles away, Teton Canyon campground is about 1.5 miles off, and climbers can find the Grand Wall at a similar distance.
