Mill Creek Trail is an out-and-back hike of about 8.8 miles in Wyoming's Caribou-Targhee National Forest, within the Teton Basin Ranger District. The route rises from a low point of about 6,718 feet to a high of about 7,609 feet, a climb of roughly 1,023 feet one way, and it is rated moderate. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail is open to bikes. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Alta, about 2.9 miles away, show July highs near 79°F with lows around 48°F and only about five wet days. That station sits roughly 1,170 feet lower than the trail's high point, so temperatures on the summit run cooler. The trailhead is at the Sheep Bridge parking area. Fred's Mountain and the Bannock Trail both lie within about a mile and a half, and Reunion Flat campground is about 2 miles away.
