Fire Just Is is a stop at the Flagg Canyon Picnic Area along the John D. Rockefeller, Jr., Memorial Parkway in Wyoming, managed by the National Park Service. It is Stop 8, and its name comes from the message on display: "Fire isn't good or bad—it just is." The stop invites visitors to reflect on the past 50 years of fire management with insights from park and forest fire managers from Grand Teton National Park and Bridger-Teton National Forest, and to consider what that means for the future. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show July highs around 77°F with lows near 38°F, while winter highs stay in the mid-20s. Flagg Canyon Launch is about 0.1 mile away, and the John D. Rockefeller, Jr. Memorial Parkway North Turnout is about 0.3 mile away. The Snake River Backcountry Office is about half a mile off, and Sheffield Campground is about 2.2 miles away.
