Star Trek Wall is a climbing area in New River Gorge National Park and Preserve in West Virginia, managed by the National Park Service. It sits among a cluster of other climbing spots, with the Ritz Cracker Area just 0.1 mile away and the Orchard Wall and Fern Point areas about 0.2 mile off. The Endless Wall Climbers' Access Trail is also close by, at 0.2 mile. The area has nine routes, with grades ranging from 5.4 to 5.11+. Six are traditional climbs and three are mixed. Among the named routes are Impulse Power (5.4, mixed) and Beam Me Up Scotty (5.7, mixed), both first ascended by Rick Fairtrace and Scott Jones in 1986. The hardest route is Share the Earth, a 5.11+ trad climb. For comfortable weather, late spring and early fall are the best bets. Typical averages from a nearby weather station run from highs around 75°F in May to about 78°F in September, with July the warmest month at about 84°F. That station sits roughly 380 feet lower than the wall, so temperatures on the rock run a little cooler.
