The Cirque is a climbing area in New River Gorge National Park and Preserve in West Virginia, managed by the National Park Service. It sits among a cluster of climbing spots, with Q) The Mungolian Wall just 0.1 mile away and P) Jacob's Ladder Area and the New River Gorge Proper both about 0.3 mile off. The Seldom Seen Trail is also within a third of a mile. The area has 27 routes, mostly sport climbing with one trad route. The YDS grades run from 5.9- up to 5.14b, with the median at 5.12c. Among the named routes are Where's Bulimia? (5.9-, trad), Hasta La Vista (5.12c, sport) and Trebuchet (5.14b, sport). September is the most comfortable month, with typical highs around 75°F and lows near 54°F, based on averages from a nearby weather station at Oak Hill. Summer is warmer, with typical highs in the low 80s, and winter is cold, with January highs around 41°F.
