1st pull off is a bouldering area in Coopers Rock State Forest in West Virginia, managed by the State Department of Natural Resources. It sits among a cluster of climbing spots, with Dice Boulders, Lay Me Down Area and Fox Tail all about 0.1 mile away. The area is a bouldering destination, with 12 routes listed, all of them boulders. The grades run from V0- up to V6, with the hardest route, Poacher, at V6. The easiest are Stanky Leg at V0- and Parking Lot Slab at V0. For timing, late spring and early fall are the most comfortable. Typical averages from the nearby Lake Lynn weather station show May highs around 74°F and September highs around 76°F, with September also seeing the fewest wet days of the year. Hikers can find Johnson Hollow Trail about 2 miles away and Ken's Run Trail about 2.4 miles away.
