Upper 5th Pull Off is a bouldering area in Coopers Rock State Forest in West Virginia, managed by the State Department of Natural Resources. It sits among a cluster of climbing spots, with Professor Boulder, Watch your back and The High Court all about 0.1 mile away. The area is a bouldering destination, with seven routes listed, all rated on the V scale from V0 to V5. The easiest are Sumer storm and Younger brother at V0, and the hardest is Moist Crack at V5-6. The routes are all boulders, so there is no climbing on rock faces here. For timing, late spring and early fall are the most comfortable. Typical averages from the nearby Lake Lynn weather station show May highs around 74°F and September highs around 76°F, with September also seeing the fewest wet days of the year. That station sits about 760 feet lower than the pull off, so temperatures at the boulders run cooler. Hikers can pair a day on the rocks with Johnson Hollow Trail, about 1.7 miles away, or Ken's Run Trail, about 2 miles away.
