Roman Boulder is a bouldering area in Washington's Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area, managed by the Forest Service. It sits among a cluster of climbing spots, with Russian Boulders and Viking Boulder each about 0.1 mile away. The area holds 17 bouldering routes, all rated on the V scale from V0 to V12. The easiest is Rome at V0, and the hardest is Undone prow at V12. Among the named routes are Gladiator at V3 and B is for Brutus at V7-8. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show July and August highs around 81 to 82°F with only about three wet days a month, while winter brings highs near 38°F and rain on most days. Nearby, the Little Wind River offers canoeing about 0.7 mile away, and Wind Mountain Trail is a hike about 2.2 miles off. For camping, Wyeth Campground is about 3.8 miles away and Moss Creek campground about 7 miles away.
