Wedekind is a short, out-and-back mountain biking route in western Washington, managed by the State Department of Natural Resources. It rises from a low of 1,791 feet to a high of 1,890 feet, a climb of about 84 feet, on a route that is roughly 1.2 miles long. The trail is close to two other riding spots: Crestline lies about 0.4 miles away and Porter about 0.5 miles away, making it easy to fold into a ride that covers more than one destination. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show July and August highs in the upper 70s with only about five wet days a month. That station sits well below the route, so temperatures at the top run cooler. For time off the bike, the Porter Tie Trail is a hike about 0.7 miles away and the Fuzzy Top Trail about 1.2 miles away. Paddlers can head to South Fork Porter Creek, roughly 1.9 miles off.
