Wedekind is a mountain biking route in Washington, managed by the State Department of Natural Resources. It sits about a mile from the town of Olympia, on land overseen by the state. The route is an out-and-back that covers about 2 miles, with a one-way climb of roughly 160 feet from a low point of about 1,618 feet to a high of about 1,778 feet. That makes it a short, low-elevation ride, easy to fit into a day of exploring the area. Summer is the most comfortable time to ride. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Olympia show July and August highs around 78°F with only about five wet days a month, while winter brings highs in the mid-40s and rain on about 20 days a month. That station sits well below the route, so temperatures on the climb run cooler. Crestline is about half a mile away, and Greenline and Porter are each about a mile off. For paddling, South Fork Porter Creek is about 1.8 miles away.
