Porter Trail is a mountain biking route in Washington, managed by the State Department of Natural Resources. It is an out-and-back ride of about 9 miles, with a total climb of about 2,500 feet. The trail starts and ends near the same elevation, around 1,360 feet, and the steepest stretch comes at about 2 miles in, where the grade reaches 18 percent. Summer is the most comfortable time to ride. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Elma show July and August highs in the upper 70s to around 80°F, with only six to seven wet days a month. That station sits well below the trail, so temperatures on the route run cooler. Porter, another mountain biking route, lies about half a mile away. C-2710 is about 1.8 miles off, and Porter Creek offers canoeing about 2 miles away. The Porter Tie Trail is a hike about 2.2 miles from the trail.
